Photo etching is a good choice for large sized designs. It is cheaper and lighter than die struck soft enamel pins while colors can be as multiple as die struck soft enamel pins. Standard thickness is 0.8mm brass, thicker material is available and the maximum thickness of brass material is 2mm only. Photo etching can’t be made in 3D cubic because all the motifs are etched with chemical acid, the depth is shallow. But etch can go straight through metal to appear openings effect, then transparent color is optional upon request.

Material: Brass 0.8mm

Enamel: Soft Enamel / Transparent Color resin

Brass Photo Etching is a “chemical’ process where the designs are transferred on a brass metal base. This process enable high detailed designs and significantly reduces the thickness of the material. This method is generally applied on larger designs and also has lower cost compared to the copper stamped.

Notes:

  • Epoxy coating can be applied to make a transparent dome for protection purposes.
  • Sandblasting, Laser Engraving, pad printing can be executed on metal areas only.
  • Bolder designs are recommended in order to prevent any unsatisfactory coloring caused by lines and figures that are too thin or too small.
  • Enamel coloring requires a surrounding metal space to ensure good quality coloring results. Therefore it is necessary to have a blank metal rim (0.35mm minimum).
